Simulated Service for the Larkspur Extension Begins November 17.

SMART has completed 100% of all the required testing for the Larkspur extension, and the next step in preparing to open the Larkspur station for service is to demonstrate the operational functioning of the full system from Sonoma County Airport Station to the Larkspur Station, including confirming the timetable and completing the training of all of SMART’s crew members on the expanded territory.

Veterans and Active-Duty Military Personnel, and Their Families Can Ride Free on Veterans Day

 

SMART would like to recognize and say thank you to veterans, service members, and their families for all they have done for our country.

SMART Will Operate a Bus Bridge Between Petaluma and Novato the Weekend of November 9 & 10

 

A bus bridge will shuttle passengers between the Petaluma Downtown, Novato San Marin and Novato Hamilton stations.

Trains will operate on a modified service schedule (see schedule below), between the Sonoma County Airport and Petaluma Downtown stations, and between the Novato Hamilton and San Rafael stations.

SMART Resumes Service to All Stations and Continues Free Service Through November 8

 

SMART service will continue to be free of charge to assist those in the North Bay who need transportation options through Friday, November 8.

Regular service operates from the Sonoma County Airport station to downtown San Rafael, serving ten stations in between. Southbound service begins at 4:19 a.m. out of the Sonoma County Airport station, and northbound service begins at 5:59 a.m. out of San Rafael. SMART runs 34 train trips each day.

SMART Will Run Free Limited Service Wednesday, October 30 Through Wednesday, November 6

SMART service will be free of charge to assist those in the area who need transportation options during this period, from October 30 to November 6.

Service will operate from the Santa Rosa Downtown station to downtown San Rafael, serving all stations in between. Southbound service begins at 4:31 a.m. out of the Santa Rosa Downtown station, and northbound service begins 5:59 a.m. out of San Rafael. SMART will run 34 train trips each day.

Service Advisory: All Trains Canceled for Tuesday, October 29

 

When power has been restored, local jurisdictions have to reactivate all traffic control systems and synchronize them with SMART railroad crossing warning devices.

To protect the public's safety by providing time for local jurisdictions to reactivate traffic signals, and to clear any newly fallen trees from the tracks resulting from recent high winds, train service will be canceled on Tuesday, October 29.

To protect the public safety, provide time for local jurisdictions to reactivate traffic control systems, and to clear downed trees from tracks due to continuing high winds, train service will be canceled on Monday, October 28.
