Full System Closure
Full Regular Passenger Service Resumed December 17, 2024
SMART temporarily suspended passenger service on Saturday, December 14, through Sunday, December 15, 2024 to allow for essential Systems Testing in preparation for the opening of the new SMART Petaluma North station. Due to unforeseen circumstances encountered during the testing process, and recent storms which caused extensive damage along the rail alignment, including downed trees, damaged power poles, and track damage, the closure was extended through Monday, December 16, 2024.
Full, regular passenger service resumed on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
We understand the challenges this extended closure may have caused and sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding throughout the process.
SMART will reimburse commute expenses incurred for taxi, Uber, Lyft (or equivalent) on Monday, December 16, 2024, via value added to a Clipper Card. To request reimbursement, please complete the form, here prior to Monday, December 23, 2024 by the end of the day.
