Petaluma, CA—The Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District (SMART) is pleased to announce today the expansion of the SMART Connect shuttle service area at the Sonoma County Airport Station. Beginning Monday, August 26, the SMART Connect shuttle will expand its service area to the east side of Highway 101, including service to the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts, Sutter Pacific Hospital and clinics, and the California Indian Museum & Cultural Center. During the week, SMART continues to provide first and last-mile connections to the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) and the surrounding business area. It extends its service area to over 30 wineries and breweries on the weekend.

The shuttle service hours are also being expanded to better meet the needs of commuters. On weekdays the shuttle will now start at 7:00am, meeting the 7:23am Northbound arrival at Sonoma County Airport Station. On the weekends, the hours have been extended to 7:30pm, meeting the 7:17pm Northbound SMART arrival.

SMART Connect is an on-demand service, like Uber or Lyft, which meets every train arrival at SMART Sonoma County Airport Station and serves the surrounding area on an on-demand basis. Passengers can book a trip on the SMART Connect Airport shuttle by using the Ride Pingo™ app or by calling 800-727-0279, or by just walking on, space available.

The SMART Connect Airport shuttle is an all-electric, 12-passenger, wheelchair-accessible vehicle equipped with luggage space and modern amenities to provide a pleasant and relaxing journey. The airport area and Highway 101 business corridors are home to many business and corporate centers. The shuttle offers flexibility and convenience for commuters and tourists riding the train to work and play.
