There is no better way to experience holiday cheer, than taking a ride on SMART’s Holiday Express. Each year SMART decorates a Holiday Express train with festive lights, ribbons, and garlands. Make a trip on the Holiday Expressa winter season tradition!
December 3 Toy Drive a Huge Success
On Saturday, December 3, SMART hosted its 6th annual Holiday Toy Drive. This year the Toy Drive was held on board all trains operating on the day of the event. This year, Santa Clause joined the Holiday Express train and many holiday revelers created holiday memories by snapping a picture with Santa!
Everyone at SMART thanks all who brought unwrapped toys to the Toy Drive this year. Your contributions truly helped make children and families in need have a brighter holiday season.

Throughout the holiday season local communities and shopping districts along the rail line host holiday events celebrating the spirit of the season. The festively decorated Holiday Express will operate from November 25 through December 30.

Take the SMART train to visit festively decorated downtown dining and shopping districts in Larkspur, San Rafael, Novato, Petaluma, Cotati, Rohnert Park, and Santa Rosa. Take a beautiful stroll or bike ride along the waterfront in Larkspur or the riverfront in Petaluma. Get out there to enjoy festivities and holiday lights in cities along the rail line.
